World Heritage - South East Asia

The United Nations Postal Service has issued six new stamps that have postage values 49c, $1.00, 1.40CHF, 1.90CHF, 0.89 Euro and 1.70 Euro named "World Heritage-South East Asia" on the 5th of June 2015. These stamps depict six sites that have been identified by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as sites to be protected and preserved. By international treaty called "Convention concerning the protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage" adopted by UNESCO in 1972 will help protect and preserve these sites. Each of the sites is listed in the following table:

  • Luang Prabang, Laos, 49c
  • Borobudur Temple, Indonesia, $1.20
  • Angkor Wat, Cambodia, 1.40CHF
  • Cordillera, Philippines, 1.90CHF
  • Ayutthaya, Thailand, 0.80 Euro
  • Hue Monuments, Viet Nam, 1.70 Euro

The World Heritage, South East Asia stamps can be purchased as singles, Sheets of 20, Prestige Booklets and assorted FDC's. The size of each stamp is 50mm x 35mm with a perforation size of 13 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by Joh Enschede Stamps B. V., Netherlands using the offset lithography printing method. Quantity of each printed is listed in the table below:

  • 49c - 130,000 stamps, or 6,500 sheets
  • $1.20 - 130,000 stamps or 6,500 sheets
  • CHF 1.40 - 110,000 stamps or 5,500 sheets
  • CHF 1.90 - 110,000 stamps or 5,500 sheets
  • Euro 0.80 - 120,000 stamps or 6,000 sheets
  • Euro 1.70 - 120,000 stamps or 6,000 sheets
  • New York Prestige Booklet 13,000
  • Geneva Prestige Booklet 13,000
  • Viuenna Prestige Booklet 17,000
