The North by the Sea - Ships at Sea Minisheet

The Sweden Postal Service has issued two new stamps in a minisheet that have a postage value of 12kr named "The North by the Sea - Ships at Sea" on the 17th of March 2014. The minisheet depicts two of Sweden icebreakers that are named Atle and Ymer. Each of these ships is 107 meters long with 22,000 hp engines that can reach speeds of up to 20 knots. They are used to break up the ice and keep the shipping lanes and harbors open year round. The North by the Sea Nordic stamp issue is the third and final theme in the joint Nordic stamp Top of the World Series. A folder is also available that contains eight Nordic postal organizations depictions of the meeting between ships and the sea World-class stamps.

"The North by the Sea - Ships at Sea" stamps can be purchase as a Minisheet, Collector Sheet, and FDCs. The size of each stamp is 39mm by 29mm and the size of the minisheet is 105mm x 70mm. They were printed using the Offset and Recess printing process.
