World Poetry Day

The San Marino Postal Service has issued three new stamps with postage values of 0.95, 1.20 and 2.20 Euros named "World Poetry Day" on the 10th of March 2016. World Poetry Day is celebrated on the 21st of March and was created by UNESCO in 1999. The stamps depict the artwork of Milton Glaser who is an illustrator and designer of these stamps. Each of the stamps display a peaceful content human face inside an object. In this case the stamps depict a tree, bird and flower and a face that looks like it is enjoying something beautiful like a poem.

World Poetry Day stamps can be purchased as singles, Sheets of 20, and assorted FDCs. The size of each stamp is 35mm x 35mm with a perforation size of 13 1/4 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by Cartor Security Printing using the four color offset printing process. Total quantity printed is 40,000 sets.
