The 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain
Miniature Sheet

The Royal Mail Postal Service has issued a new Miniature Sheet with six stamps that have postage values of first class and 1.33 pound named "The 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain" on the 15th of July 2015. This miniature sheet features Winston Churchill at a coastal defense position near Hartlepool on the 31st of July 1940. To the right of Churchill are six stamps that depict archive images of the Battle. Each is described in the following list:

  • First Class (top left) - features RAF fighter pilots running to their Hurricanes during an alert
  • First Class (top center) - Biggin Hill, Supermarine Spitfires of 610 Squardron patrol the skies.
  • First Class (top right) - Fred Roberts re-arms a Supermarine Spitfire while the pilot, Sergeant Bernard Jennings talks to a mechanic.
  • 1.33 Pound (bottom left) - recruits receive their first lesson in identifying enemy aircraft.
  • 1.33 Pound (bottom center) - depicts the operations room at Bentley Priory.
  • 1.33 Pound (bottom right) - fighter pilots of 32 Squardron at RAF Hawkinge in Kent relax after flying a mission.

The 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain miniature sheet can be purchased as a miniature sheet of 6, Presentation Pack, and assorted FDC's. The size of the miniature sheet is 179mm x 74mm; and the size of the six stamps included with the sheet is 41mm x 30mm with a perforation size of 14.5 x 14 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by International Security Printers using the lithography printing method with PVA gum.
