Old Toys, Europa 2015

The Norway Postal Service has issued 2 new stamps that have postage values of 14Kr and 17kr named "Old Toys (Europa 2015)" on the 5th of June 2015. Each of the stamps depict old toys that were produced in Norway during the 1950s and 1960s. Norway has an interesting story to tell about one of its citizen named Asmund S. Laerdal's. He started a company in 1941 that produce toys for both boys and girls. The top left stamp shown above depicts the Anne dolls; and the stamp on the right depicts toy trucks. Each were produce by Laerdal's company and were sold worldwide. Millions were sold and the company prosper for many years. But present day low cost countries cheap toys, ended the companies success in toy sales. Present day the company is now having success with it medical division which sells medical equipment and medical training programs for health personnel in Africa.

The Old Toys (Europa 2015) stamps can be purchased as a set of 2, Presentation Pack, and assorted FDC's. They were printed by Joh. Enschede Security Print using the Offset printing method. .
