Ireland Lighthouses/Commissioners of Irish Lights

Ireland Postal Service has issued 4 new stamps in a se-tenant block of 4 with a postage value 72c each named "Ireland Lighthouses, Commissioners of Irish Lights" on October 6th, 2016. The stamps features Irish Lights staff working on a Buoy, their helicopter flying over Fanad lighthouse in Donegal, the technology Irish Lights offers to the sea user and the ILV Granuaile which is a service vessel. Irish Lights uses advanced technology such as differential GPS, radar beacons and automatic identification systems to provide clear sailing for Ireland shipping of imports and exports. Each year over 30 million tons of goods, nearly 4 million passengers and more than 1 million containers pass through Irish ports. Irish Lights provides these vessels the information they need to keep safe on the waterways.

Ireland Lighthouses, Commissioners of Irish Lights stamps can be purchased as a se-tenant block of 4, Sheets of 16, Prestige booklet and assorted FDCs. The size of each stamp is 45mm x 28mm with a stamp perforation size of 13.3 x 13.6 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by Carter Security Printing using the lithography printing process with 102gms PVA gum paper.
