Cats

The Ireland Postal Service has issued four new stamps that have a postage value of 68c named "Cats" on the 4th of September 2014. These stamps are being issued to promote a tribute to the most popular pets in the world, Cats! They are very friendly and bond with humans and even dogs. They are solitary hunters that have excellent hearing ability and can hunt in the darkness. The four stamps shown above depict four popular cats that are listed as follows:

  • Maine Coon (Top Left)
  • Burmese (Top Right)
  • British Shorthair (Bottom Left)
  • Persian (Bottom Right)

"Cats" stamps can be purchase as a se-tenant block of 4, Sheet of 16, Prestige Booklet or FDC. The size of each stamp is 36mm x 36mm with a perforation size of 13.5 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by Irish Security Stamp Printing Ltd. using the Lithography printing process.
