Icelandic Contemporary Design VII, Ceramics Design

The Iceland Postal Service has issued four new stamps with postage values of 50g, 100g and 500g named "Icelandic Contemporary Design VII, Ceramics Designs" on the 18th of February 2016. These stamps depict four different Icelandic ceramic designs which is the seventh stamp series dedicated to contemporary Icelandic design. Each of the design names and the name of the Iceland designers is listed in the table below:

  • Jokla (Dinner Service)(50g) - designed by Posutlima Team made up of Guobjorg Karadottir and Olof Jakobina Ernudottir.
  • Jarolog (Sediments)(B50g) - designed by Olof Eria Bjarnodottir. She runs a shop name Kirsuberjatred (The Cherry Tree) in Reykjavik.
  • Leirpottur (Clay Pot)(100g) - designed by Boroio Team made up of Brynhildur Palsdottir, Guofinna Mjoll Magnusdottir and the clay factory Leir 7 owned by Sigriou Erla Guomundsdottir.
  • Samtal (Dialog) - designed by Hanna Dis Whitehead.

Iceland Contemporary Design VII, Ceramics Designs stamps can be purchased as set of 4, Sheets of 10, assorted FDCs. The size of each stamp is 39mm x 24mm. They were printed by Cartor Security Printing using the four colors offset Litho plus PMS Metalic printing process.
