75th Anniversary of the Faroese National Flag

The Faroe Islands Postal Service has issued two new stamps that have a postage value of 11.00kr and 12.00kr named "75th Anniversary of the Faroese National Flag" on the 24th of April 2015. What a time to issue a stamp with the Faroese National Flag. Not only is the flag having its 75th anniversary, but it is being shown in a picture that was taken on the peak of Mount Everest, 8,848 meters above sea level. A Faroese mountaineer name Arne Vatnhamar unfurled the flag on Mount Everest snow capped peak and had his picture taken with the flag on May 25, 2014.
The flag was design by three Faroese students in Copenhagen. Their names are Jens Oliver Lisberg, Janus Ossurson and Thomas Pauli Dahl. The flag was not completly accepted by the Faroe Island until April 25 1948.

75th Anniversary of the Faroese National Flag stamps can be purchased as a set of 2 and assorted FDC's. The size of the stamps is 30mm x 40mm . They were printed by Cartor, France using the offset printing process.
