Reformation 500th Anniversary

Faroe Islands Postal Service has issued a new stamp with a postage value of 18 DKK named "Reformation 500th Anniversary" on October 3rd, 2017. The stamp depicts Martin Luther posting his 95 theses on the door of the Wittenberger Church Castle on October 31, 1517. Martin Luther was a great German reformer of the New Testament and Old Testament. He translated these works into the German language in 1534 so that all could read the bible. Not just the prist who translated the bible for the German people. During the 1520s Martin Luther laid out fundamental principles of the Reformed Church. Its catechism, ethics, church concepts and issued church pamphlets which common folks could easily understand. This Reformation spread across Northern Europe and is now in its 500th Anniversary with no end in sight.

Reformation 500th Anniversary stamp can be purchase as a single, Minisheet, Sheet of 20, block of 4, and assorted FDCs. The size of the stamp is 40mm x 30mm, and the size of the minisheet is 60mm x 80mm. It was printed by Cartor Security Printing, Frankreich using the offset printing process.
