Cocos (Keeling) Islands Postal Service 2016 Issue

Dolphins

The Cocos (Keeling) Islands Postal Service will issue three new stamps with a postage value of $1 each named "Dolphins" on the 17th of May 2016. These three dolphins depicted on the stamps are native to Cocos (Keeling) Islands. The top left stamp above depicts the Common Dolphins, and the top right stamp above depicts the Spinner Dolphin, and the bottom stamp above depicts the Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin. Each of the species in this issue are sociable and playful and can be reconize by the difference in their beak size and colors. They are cetaceans (aquatic mammals), which as a group also include whales and porpoises.

Dolphins stamps can be purchased as a set of 3, Gutter 10 of each stamp, and FDCs. The size of each stamp is 37.5mm x 26mm with a perforation size of 14.6 x 13.86 using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by RA Printing using the offset lithography printing process with Tullis Russell paper.
