Sweden Christmas 2016 Barn Elves Stamp Issue

It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year we decided to cover two or three different countries a week in our newsletter until Christmas. This week we visit Canada, Iceland and Sweden. Each of their 2016 Christmas stamp issues are shown above and some information about them is listed below.

Canada issued three new Christmas stamps named "Christmas, Rolf Harder" on November 1, 2016. Design by The Helene L Heureux these stamps depict a wonderland of winter Christmas scenes. They include Santa Claus looking at a Christmas Tree, a Christmas Tree with Santas Hat, and a dove with an olive branch flying over a Christmas Tree. The stamps can be purchased in assorted size booklets, Souvenir sheet and Assorted FDCs. The sizes of the stamps is 22mm x 24mm and the size of the souvenir sheet is 85mm x 54mm. They were printed by Canadian Bank Note using the 5 color lithography printing process.

Iceland issued three new stamps named "Christmas 2016" on November 3rd 2016. Designed by Hany Hadaya, these stamps of Iceland are knitted stamps with popular Christmas designs that include the Star of Bethlehem, a Christmas Candle and a Christmas Decorations. The stamps can be purchased in a booklet, Sheets of 10 and assorted FDCs. The size of each stamp is 37mm x 27mm. They were printed by Cartor Security Printing using the offset lithography printing process.

Sweden issued five new Christmas stamps named "Christmas 2016 Barn Elves" on November 10, 2016. These stamps were design by Eva Wilsson, and feature elve characters in different winter scenes. The size of each stamp is 36.6mm x 26.5mm. The stamps can be purchase in a booklet of 10 and assorted FDC's. They were printed using the offset printing process.
