Norway Christmas 2016 Stamp Issue

It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year we decided to cover two or three different countries a week in our newsletter until Christmas. This week we visit Australia, Christmas Island and Norway. Each of their 2016 Christmas stamp issues are shown above and some information about them is listed below.

Australia issued five new Christmas stamps named "Christmas 2016" on October 31 2016. Design by Stacey Zass and Stuart McLachian these stamps depict three famous Christmas scenes and two present day stamps of Goodwill and Joy. The three Christmas scenes feature Mary cradling baby Jesus(65c), a trumpeting angel($1.70) and three wise men($2.55); and the two present day stamps feature a star(65c) and a wrapped present(65c). The stamps can be purchased as set of 5, Minisheet, Sheets, Stamp Pack, Assorted Booklets, Assorted Gutters and Assorted FDCs. The size of each stamp is 26mm x 37.5mm and the size of the minisheet is 130mm x 80mm. Perforation size of 14 x 14.4 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by McKellar Renown and EgoTrade Pty Ltd using the offset lithography printing process with Tullis Russell self adhesive paper.

Christmas Island issued two new stamps named "Christmas 2016" on October 31st 2016. Designed by Sonia Young, Australia Post Design Studio, these stamps feature Santa and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer dashing across the sky over Christmas Island. Santa has lots of presents for the inhabitants of Christmas Island including presents for the crabs, turtles, bosunbirds, frigatebirds and boobies. The stamps can be purchased as a set of 2, assorted Sheets, assorted Gutters and assorted FDCs. The size of each stamp is 26mm x 37.5mm with a perforation size of 13.86 x 14.6 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by RA Printing using the offset lithography printing process with Tullis Russel self adhesive paper.

Norway issued two new Christmas stamps named "Christmas 2016" on November 11, 2016. These stamps were design by Fredrik Skavlan and feature Santa Claus working and having fun. They each have a postage value of A domestic. One stamp depicts Santa Claus pulling a sled full of presents; and the other stamp depicts Santa Claus in a sled sliding down a hill. The stamps can be purchase as a set of 2, sheets, and assorted FDC's. They were printed by Joh. Enschede Security Print using the offset printing process.
