It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year we decided to cover two or three different countries a week in our newsletter until Christmas. This week we visit Denmark, Luxembourg and Malta. Each of their 2015 Christmas stamp issues are shown above and some information about them is listed below.

Denmark issued 3 new Christmas stamps named "Christmas Biscuits" on October 17 2015. Designed by PostNord/Jakob Monefeldt these stamps feature traditional Christmas images of Honey Cake Man, Honey Cake Woman and Honey Cake Heart. In Christiansfeld, Denmark, honey cakes have been made every Christmas since 1799. These stamps can be purchase as a set, Sheets of 10, Miniature sheet, Presentation Pack, and assorted FDCs. They were printed using the 4 color offset printing process with self adhesive paper.

Luxembourg has issued 2 new stamps named "Christmas 2015" on 1st of December 2015. Designed by Jacques Schneider who used black and white photos of the City of Luxembourg in winter, and rework them with blue and orange tones. These stamps can be purchase as a set, Sheetlets of 12 and FDCs. The size of the stamps is 35mm x 35mm. They were printed by Cartor Security Printing using the offset lithography and thermnography printing process.

Malta Post has issued 3 new Christmas stamps named "Christmas 2015" on November 11th, 2015. These stamps feature woodcuts of Albrecht Durer's series Life of the Virgin dating back to 1500. They include: The Flight into Egypt, The Nativity of the Lord, and The Adoration of the Magi. These artworks can be seen today at the Cathedral Museum in Mdina along with other Durer works. The stamps size is 44mm x 31mm. They can be purchase as a set, Sheets of 10, Presentation Pack, Special Folder, Block of 4 and FDCs. They were printed by Malta Post p.l.c. using the 4 color offset printing process.
