It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year we decided to cover two or three different countries a week in our newsletter until Christmas. This week we visit Great Britain (Royal Mail), Iceland and Austria. Each of their 2015 Christmas stamp issues are shown above and some information about them is listed below.

Great Britian (Royal Mail) issued 8 new Christmas stamps named "Nativity Story" on November 3 2015. Illustrated by David Holmes the Christmas stamps feature six trditional scenes for the Nativity Story. They are: The Journey to Bethlehem, The Nativity, The Animals of the Nativity, The Shepherds, The Three Wise Men, and The Annunciation. These stamps can be purchase as a set of 8, Minature sheet, Presentation Pack, Booklet of 12(first Class), Booklet of 12(second class) and assorted FDCs. Sorry no specification were available.

Iceland Post has issued three new stamps named "Christmas 2015" on 5th of November 2015. These stamps feature three different Christmas scenes. The Top left stamp above depict two people eating Christmas cookies with a drink. The top right stamp above depict three people walking accross a frozen waterway with Christmas hats. The bottom stamp above depict a cat with a bow ribbon around its neck listening to Christmas music from a computer. Postage values for these stamps is 137, 159, and 180ISK. They can be purchase as a set and FDCs. Sorry! no specification available.

Austria Post has issued a new Christmas stamps named "Salzburg-Liefering, the Birth of Christ" on November 27th, 2015. It is a painted picture by an anomymous artist around 1465. It depicts Mary, Mother of God in a large gown on which baby Jesus is laying. Also in the picture is a ox and a donkey looking in through a window. Other figures in the background can also been seen. This picture is from the old parish church Liefering. It can be purchase as a single and FDC. It was designed by Dieter Kraus and printed by Cartor Security Printing using the 4 color offset printing process.
