Norway Christmas 2014 Stamp Issue

It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year we decided to cover two or three different countries a week in our newsletter until Christmas. This week we visit Great Britain(Royal Mail), Guernsey and Norway. Each of their 2014 Christmas stamp issues are shown above and some information about them is listed below.

Great Britain (Royal Mail) issued seven new Christmas stamps named "Christmas 2014" on November 4th, 2014. Design by True North the stamps feature five different Christmas scenes: Collecting the Christmas Tree on 2nd class postage large and small stamps, Posting Christmas Cards on 1st class postage large and small stamps, Building a Snow Man on 1.28 pound postage stamp, Carol Singing on the 1.47 pound stamp and Ice Skating on the 2.15 pound stamp. The stamps are available in assorted formats. The size of the small stamps is 24mm x 28mm, and the size of the large stamps is 34mm x 28mm. Both have a perforation size of 14.5 x 15 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by De La Rue Security print using the Gravure printing process with self adhesive paper.

Guernsey issued 7 new stamps named "What Christmas Means" on 6th of November 2014. Drawned by Guernsey School Children these stamps depict 7 different Christmas scenes on Christmas tree bulbs. The children drawings used on the stamps were selected by judges in a contest held by the Guernsey Post. There postage values are: 36p, 41p, 54p, 55p, 66p, 74p and 83p. The stamps are available in assorted formats. The size of each stamp is 50mm x 43mm with a perforation of 7.75 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by Carter Security Printing using the offset lithography printing process with 247gsm self stick paper.

Norway issued two new Christmas stamps named "Christmas 2014" on November 10, 2014. These stamps were design by Magnus Rakeng and feature the Solvguttene Boys Choir and a scene from a popular play "Putti Plutti Pott and Santas Beard" The postage values of these stamps are both A Domestic. The stamps are available in assorted formats. They were printed by Joh. Enschede Security Print using the offset printing method.
