Bjorn Ulvaeus

The Aland Postal Service will issue a new stamp with a postage value of 1.30 euro named "Bjorn Ulvaeus" on the 8th of July 2016. This is the eleventh stamp issue in the My Aland celebrities series that depicts their favorite place in the Aland province. This issue presents ABBA legend Bjorn Ulvaeus favorite place which is Karlby village on Kokar in the Aland archipelago. The star says that he use to take his yacht south along the Swedish coast until he visited Aland. Now he prefers to take his yacht across the Aland Sea to cruise in the archipelago. The stamp depicts an image of Brudhall guest harbor and Karlby village in the morning haze. Previous artists from this series is Lill Lindfors, Mauno Koivisto, Mark Levengood, Bjorn Borg, Martti Ahtisaari, Ake Lindman, Marcus Gronholm, Caroline af Ugglas, Robert Helenius and Tarja Halonen. A special sign FDC by Bjorn Ulvaeus is also being offer with this issue with limited quantities. See image below.

Bjorn Ulvaeus stamp can be purchased as singles, Sheets of 2 x 15, Gutter pair, Strip and assorted FDCs. The size of each stamp is 38.4mm x 28mm with a stamp perforation size of 13 using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by Bpost using the 4 color offset printing process with 110gms paper. Total printed is 140,000 stamps.
