Love: King and Queen of Hearts Stamps

United States Postal Service has issued two new definitive stamps with a postage value of 44 cents named "Love: King and Queen of Hearts" on the 8th of May 2009. These stamps depict the King and Queen of hearts used in playing cards. The designer used 18th Century French playing cards as a reference to create the two designs. USPS issued it first Love series stamps in 1973 and since then a variety of designs, including heart motifs, colorful flowers, and the word Love itself have been used in the designs.

"Love: King and Queen of Hearts" stamps can be purchased as a Booklet of 20, or FDC's. They will be printed using the gravure printing process.
