Mount Rushmore

United States Postal Service has issued a new priority mail definitive stamp with a postage value of $4.80 named "Mount Rushmore" on the 6th of June 2008. This stamp depicts one of America's National Memorials located in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Four famous American president faces are actually carved into Mount Rushmore itself. They are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt. According to a 1929 budget document, the monument was intended to commemorate the founding, expansion, preservation, and unification of the United States. The picture on the stamp is a drawing of Mount Rushmore National Memorial done by Dan Cosgrove of Chicago Illinois.

"Mount Rushmore" can be purchased as a single stamp, Block of 4, Block of 10, Full pane of 20, or FDC.
