The International Polar Year 2007-2008

United States Postal Service will issue a new mini-sheet with two stamps that have a postage value of 84 Cents each named "The international Polar Year 2007-2008" on the 21st of February 2007. The minisheet is being issued to recognize the International Polar year which starts in 2007. Seven other countries will also be issuing a minisheet with two stamps. They include: Greenland, Canada, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The USA stamps depict the aurora borealis or better known as the northern lights, and the aurora australis a southern polar phenomenon. The selvage depicts a portion of the aurora borealis over Mount Mckinley.

"The International Polar year 2007-2008" minisheet can be purchased as a mini-sheet, Uncut press Sheet or FDC. The size of the minisheet is about 6.43" x 4.20" . It will be printed using the Offset Printing process.
