UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE 2001 ISSUE
Design by Richard Sheaff

The United States Postal Service has issued a new yummy Thanksgiving stamp. It has been named "We Give Thanks" and was issued on the 19th of October 2001. The stamp honors the tradition of being thankful for the abundance of goods we enjoy in America. It is the last new design in the Postal Service's Holiday Celebrations series. The series began in 1996 with a 32 cents stamp honoring the Jewish festival Hanukka.

The We Give Thanks stamp can be purchase as a single, Pane of 20, or First Day Cover. The size of the stamps is 1.19 x 0.91 inches. The printing process for the stamps is offset, and the paper used is nonphosphored. A quantity of 69 million self adhesive stamps will be printed using five colors.
