United States Postal Service will issue the 7th stamp in the Legends of Hollywood series on the 6th day of August 2001. The stamp will honor the famous comedy star Lucille Ball. It will be issued on the stars 90th birthday. 50 years after the show premiered. She played as a funny house wife named Lucy Ricardo in the I Love Lucy Show. The show captured the world and became a big hit. It ran from 1951 to 1957.
This issue can be purchase as a Single, Pane of 20 w/plate no & selvage, Uncut press sheet, or First Day Cover (FDC). The printing process used to print the stamps is offset with 5 colors. A quantity of 110 million will be printed. The stamp is block tagged, and will be self- adhesive. A nice addition to any collection.
