Johannesburg Summit 2002

On the 27th of June 2002 the United Nations Postal Administration will issue 12 new commemorative stamps on three mini sheets. The 12 stamp designs are printed with two values on each sheet, in denominations of 37 cents, 60 cents, F.s. 0,90, F.s. 1,80, Euro 0,51 and Euro 0,58. Each sheet of 12 stamps consist of six vertical se-tenant pairs and there are two different se-tenant pairs on each sheet. The stamps are being issued to recognize the Johannesburg Summit 2002 beginning on August 24 in South Africa. The summit will consist of tens of thousands of participants, including heads of State and Government, national delegates and leaders from non-governmental organizations, businesses and other major groups to focus the world's attention on improving people's lives. The major topics of discussing will be conserving our natural resources and the environment, Economic growth and equity, and Social development throughout the world.

These stamps can be purchase as a single unit of two different vertical se-tenant pairs, mint sheet, combination FDC, triple-cancelled FDC, or jumbo FDC. The quantities of the 37 cents and 60 cents stamps will be 450,000 full sheets, and the quantities of the F.s. 0,90 and F.s. 1,80 stamps will be 405,000 full sheets, and the quantities of the Euro 0,51 and 0,58 stamps will be 435,000 sheets. The stamp size is 40 mm x 30 mm and has a perforation size of 14. The printing process used is Offset printing.
