Climate Change

United Nations Postal Service has issued six new mini-sheets that have postage values of 42c, 94c, 1.20Fs, 1.80Fs, 0.65 and 1.15 Euro named "Climate Change" on the 23rd of October 2008. These mini-sheets depict the cause and various parts of our environment that have been affected by climate change. It is estimate that the temperature of the earth has increased by 0.74 degrees celsius/1.33 degrees Fahrenheit during the past 100 years. This rise in temperature has cause seasons to arrive at different times, glaciers to recede, sea levels to rise, droughts and heat waves. The United Nations has taken action with various summit meetings that have created treaties among the nations to help reduce climate change. And they are working hard to get all nations involve to reduce climate change.

"Climate Change" can be purchased as individual mini-sheet, Prestige Booklets, and various FDC's. The size of the stamp is 52mm x 36mm with a perforation size of 13 using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by Lowe-Martin Group, Canada using the Offset printing method. Quantities of each are listed below:

  • 42 Cents 400,000 stamps (100,000 sheets)
  • 94 Cents 400,000 stamps (100,000 sheets)
  • 1.20 F.s. 400,000 stamps (100,000 sheets)
  • 1.80 F.s. 400,000 stamps (100,000 sheets)
  • 0.65 Euro 480,000 stamps (120,000 sheets)
  • 1.15 Euro 480,000 stamps (120,000 sheets)
