Endangered Species 2006

United Nations Postal Service has issued 12 new stamps that have postage values of 39 Cents, F.s. 1.00, and 0.55 Euro named "Endangered Species 2006" on the 16th of March 2006. The stamps depict twelve different endangered species in three different sheets. This is the fourteenth set of Endangered Species stamps issued by UNPA. The first was issued on the 3rd of March 1993. Each of the stamps is described in a clockwise direction starting with the top block:

  • Golden Mantella
  • Panther Chameleon
  • Dyeing Poison Frog
  • Peruvian Rainbow Boa
  • Tomato Frog
  • Flap-necked Chameleon
  • Golfodulcean Poison Frog
  • Emerald Tree Boa
  • Red-and-blue Poison Frog
  • Carpet Chameleon
  • Yellow-banded Poison Frog
  • Amazon Tree Boa
"Endangered Species 2006" stamps can be purchase as se-tenant blocks of 4, Sheets of 16, or various FDC's. The size of each stamp is 39.2mm x 28.6mm with a perforation size of 12 1/2 x 12 3/4. They will be printed by Joh. Enschede Stamps Security Printers B.V., Netherlands using the Offset Lithography Printing process. The quantity of each printed will be:
  • 39 Cents - 53,000 sheets
  • F.s.1.00 - 57,000 sheets
  • 0.55 Euro - 65,000 sheets
