Europa - Postal Vehicles

The Switzerland Postal Service has issued two new stamps that have a postage value of 1 CHF named "Europa - Postal Vehicles" on the 30th of April 2013. The Switzerland Post issued these stamps to celebrate one hundred years of electric vehicles in the service of Swiss Post. It also marks 100 years of innovation with the first electric motorized four wheel van put into service in 1913. It was developed and built by Tribelhorn and Co. and used for parcels delivery. Today, the DXP electric three wheeler scooters developed by Kyburz and Swiss Post is the preferred delivery vehicle. It has a big load capacity and excellent stability. Swiss Post plans to convert it entire scooter fleet to electric by 2016. Four wheel electric vehicles are also in service and are proving to be effective. The two stamps issued depict the Tribelhorn Delivery van (above left) and the Swiss Post Kyburz DXP electric three-wheeler (above right).

"Europa - Postal Vehicles" stamps can be purchase as a set of 2, Set of 4 blocks, Folder, Collection sheet, or various FDC's. The size of the each stamp is 40mm x 32.5mm with a perforation size of 13 1/4 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by Gutenberg AG, Schaan, Liechtenstein using the 4 color offset printing method with 100gms gummed paper.
