Honey Bee

The Switzerland Postal Service will issue a new stamp that has a postage value of 0.85 CHF named "Honey Bee" on the 3rd of March 2011. This stamp depicts the Honey Bee that is one of mans best friends when it comes to pollination. The Honey Bee carries pollen from plant to plant which causes fertilization of the flowering plant. Plants attract them with nectar on which the honey bees feed; and from this nectar the honey bee produces honey. Today, there are beekeepers all over the world who raise the honey bee to produce honey and beeswax.

"Honey Bee" stamp can be purchased as a single, Sheet of 14, Block of 4, Collection sheet, or various FDC's. The size of the stamp is 35mm x 40mm. It will be printed using the offset printing process with 260gms White offset board paper.
