Stamp Day 2010: The Zahringer Fountain Miniature Sheeet

The Switzerland Postal Service has issued a new mini-sheet that has a postage value of 85 CHF named "Stamp Day 2010" on the 28th of October 2010. To celebrate Stamp Day 2010 the Switzerland Post has issued a mini-sheet that depicts the The Zahringer Fountain and also a Special Cover that depicts the Zahringer Fountain mini-sheet and St. Catherine of Alexandria 13th Century Church Window in Munchenbuchsee. The fountain is nearly six meters high and is topped by a standing bear wearing a helmet and a belt with two swords. In its right paw it holds a banner and in its left a shield, both with a golden lion on red ground. Below the adult bear is a cub eating grapes. The fountain was erected in 1542 in honor of Berchtold V von Zahringen who founded Berne in 1911.

"Stamp Day 2010" mini-sheet can be purchased as a mini-sheet, Special FDC, and FDC. The size of the mini-sheet is 70mm x 105mm and the stamp is 30mm x 51mm and has a stamp perforation of 13.75 x 31.25 using the 2cm reference. Its was printed by Joh. Enschede using the Offset printing process with 100gms gummed paper.
