Delicacies from Switzerland's Sunny South Mini-sheet

Switzerland Postal Service has issued a new mini-sheet that has one stamp with a postage value of 85 CHF named "Delicacies from Switzerland's Sunny South" on the 21st of November 2008. The mini-sheet depicts a granite table with a variety of different foods and drinks found in Ticino, Switzerland. Located in southern Switzerland Ticino specialties has been selected to represent this year's Stamp Day in Bellinzona. Stamp Day 2008 will be celebrated on 7 December in conjunction with the stamp exhibition "Bellinzonafil 08" in Bellinzona; and a official USPS special cover will be issued for this very special day. Stamp exhibition with Stamp Day Mart in the Espo Centro in Bellinzona will be open the following days with free admission:

  • Friday, 5 December 2008, 2pm to 6pm
  • Saturday, 6 December 2008, 10am to 6pm
  • Sunday, 7 December 2008, 9:30am to 4pm

"Delicacies from Switzerland's Sunny South" can be purchased as a mini-sheet , Folder, Collection sheet, or various FDC's. A Special cover of the USPS is also available. The size of the stamp is 50.00mm x 30mm with a perforation size of 14 x 13.25 using the 2cm reference. The size of a mini-sheet is 105mm x 70mm. It will be printed by Joh. Enschede Stamps Haarlem, Netherlands using the Offset printing method with 110 gms paper and pva gum.
