50th Anniversary of the Horse Foundation

Switzerland Postal Service will issue 3 new stamps with postage value of 85 CHF named "50th Anniversary of the Horse Foundation" on the 4th of March 2008. These stamps are being issued to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Horse Foundation which was set up in 1958 by Hans Schwarz. This foundation has worked to enable old horses, ponies and donkeys to enjoy their sunset years in dignity and freedom on the wide green pastures. The foundation has three homes setup in switzerland at this time that can take care of upto 170 elderly horses, ponies and donkeys. Each will live out their closing years on rolling pastures and in herds with the protection and care of man.

"50th Anniversary of the Horse Foundation" stamps can be purchased as a strip of 3, Sheets of 15, or FDC. The size of the 3 stamp set is 104mm x 37mm with a Perforation size of 13 x 13.25 using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by Joh. Enschede, Netherlands using the Offset printing process with 110gms white paper.
