Cultural Routes in Switzerland

Swiss Postal Service has issued four new stamps that have postage values of 85 + 40, and 100 + 50 CHF named "Cultural Routes in Switzerland" on the 27th of April 2007. The +40 and +50 CHF on each stamp is an extra surcharge that will be donated to the Pro Patria Foundation. This foundation will use the money to preserve and maintain selected cultural monuments that are closely linked to Switzerland's most important transport routes. Each stamp depicts one of the four important travel and trade routes through Switzerland with a famous monument along the route, and a map of the route. The name of each travel and trade route is Via Jacobi, Via Jura, Via Gottardo and Via Cook.

"Cultural Routes in Switzerland" stamps can be purchased as a set of 4, Set of 4 Blocks Sheets of 20, Collection sheet, or FDC's. The size of each stamp is 33mm x 28mm with a 13 1/4 x 12 3/4 perforation using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by Bagel Security Print in Dusseldorf, Germany using the offset printing process with 110gms paper and mat gummed.
