Sweden Postal Service 2013 Issue

The Sweden Postal Service has issued four new stamps that have a postage value of 6 SEK named "Dahlias" on the 22nd of August 2013. These stamps depicts four different Dahlias that have been identified as Ball Dahlia, Decorative Dahlia, Waterlily Dahlia and Ruffle Dahlia. Dahlia flowers were name after a famous Swedish botanist name Andreas Dahl in 1791. It is impossible to count the shapes and colors of the Dahlia because there are more then 50,000 different types. This is because they are easy to interbreed. Just gather the seeds together and they will happily interbreed and create there own unique variations. It is said that many gardeners have created their own unique variations at home.

"Dahlias" stamps can be purchase as a booklet of 10, Collector Sheet, and FDC. The size of each stamp is 37.5mm x 26.6mm and the size of the booklet is 180mm x 125mm They were printed using the offset printing process.
