Textile Art

The Sweden Postal Service has issued five new stamps that have a postage value of 5 SEK named "Textile Art" on the 16th of August 2012. These new stamps depict textile artworks that used fabrics, printing and embroidery, and were created between 1928 and 2006. Five of Swedens most prominent artists works were selected. Each of the artists and their works is as follows:

  • Märta Måås-Fjetterström - June Flowers, 1928
  • Viola Gråsten - Oomph, 1952
  • Lennart Rodhe - Signs in an Archive
  • Laris Strunke - “Hommage à tuskaft, 1991
  • Teresa Oscarsson - Peace in the Valley

"Textile Art" stamps can be purchase as a booklet of 10, Souvenir sheet of 6, Collectors sheet or FDC. The size of each stamp is 44.1mm x 26.6mm . They were printed using the Recess and Offset printing process.
