Sweden Peoples Park Booklet and Coil Stamps

The Sweden Postal Service has issued five new stamps that have a postage value of 6 SEK named "Peoples Parks" on the 12th of January 2012. These new stamps depict the history and entertainment that has taken over the Swedish peoples parks. Originally the idea behind the parks was to give the emerging workers movement an arena for political meetings and a place for regular people to enjoy entertainment. But later, the entertainment aspect took over and the dance floors which are more common today took over. Many famous people have entertained at these parks but the most famous was Barbro Svensson, Lill-Babs. Each of the stamps is described in the list below:

  • Entrance with Visitors. Björneborg, Värmland. (Top Left)
  • Dance Floor. Arvika, Värmland. (Top Right)
  • Lill-Babs (Bottom Left)
  • Chocolate Wheel. Kolsnäs, Värmland. (Bottom Right)
  • Entrance. Borlänge, Dalarna (coil stamp).

"Peoples Parks" stamps can be purchase as a Booklet, Coil, Souvenir sheet, Collectors sheet, or FDC. The size of the booklet stamps is 37.5mm x 26.6mm and the size of the coil stamp is 25mm x 31.25mm. The size of the souvenir sheet is 187.5mm x 148.0 mm. They will be printed using the recess printing method. A total of only 12,000 souvenir sheet will be printed.
