100 Years of Flight

South African Postal Service has issued 10 new stamps with the Standard postage value named "100 Years of Flight" on the 17th of December 2003. The stamps depict 10 different flying machines used since the beginning of flight. Each of the Flying Machines shown on the stamps is as follows (Start Top Left):

  • Paterson Bi-plane
  • Silver Queen Vickers Vimy
  • De Havilland DH-9
  • Junkers Ju52/53
  • Boeing 707
  • Rooivalk
  • Wapiti
  • Sunsat Micro Satellite
  • Sikorsky S-55
  • Mark Shuttleworth-first African in Space and the Space Lab

"100 Years of Flight" stamps can be purchased as a single stamp set, Sheetlets, or FDC. No other information available at this time
