Tribute to the Coat of Arms

The San Marino Postal Service will issue a new souvenir sheet with three stamps that have postage values of 0.60, 0.85 and 4.95 Euros named "Tribute to the Coat of Arms" on the 29th of February 2012. This new souvenir sheet depicts the San Marino Coat of arms; and intends to travel a long historical route with images of some coats of arms which are amongst the most significant in the history of the San Marino republic. Also on the sheet is the new coat of arms that was taken from the Constitution Law on the 22nd July 2011. This new Coat of Arms list the word Libertas under the shield which means Liberty. The Shield represent the right to defend freedom for its people; and the Three Towers within the shield are crown by their banners and sit on Mount Titano and represent the populations sense of belonging. Each stamp has a different color arms on it which represents different levels of official use. The Gold leaf arms is used solely for the headed notepaper of the Captains Regent, silver is used by the Secretaries of State and the blue is used by the States public offices. A tribute to the Coat of Arms souvenir sheet represents liberty, Independence and Sovereignty.

Tribute to the Coat of Arms can be purchase as a souvenir sheet. The size of each stamp is 40mm x 30mm with a perforation size of 13 x 13.5 using the 2cm reference. The size of the souvenir sheet is 185mm x 143mm. It will be printed by Cartor Security Printing using the 4 color Offset with gold, silver and blue foil. A total of 120,000 souvenir sheet will be printed.
