His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI

The San Marino Postal Service has issued a new stamp with a postage value of 1 Euro named "His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI" on the 4th of June 2011. This stamp is being issued to celebrate Pope Benedict XVI visit to San Marino on June 19th 2011. The stamp depicts the Pope with the Basilica del Santo in the background. During the Pope visit he will meet with the Captains Regent and then celebrate Holy Mass with all the bishops of Emilia-Romagna. The Pope will also meet with youngsters from the diocese in Pennabilli.

"His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI" can be purchased as a single or mini-sheet of 5 stamps. The size of the stamp is 40.64mm x 29.79mm. The perforation is 15 x 14 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by BDT using the four color Offset printing process with gold pantone. A total of 200,000 mini-sheets will be printed.
