Dedicated to Ferrari

San Marino Postal Service has issued six new stamps with postage values of 0.01, 0.04, 0.05, 0.45, 0.62, 1.50 Euro named "Dedicated to Ferrari" on the 28th of February 2005. The stamps are being issued to honor the drivers who became world champions driving the magical Ferrari. Five of eight drivers who won world championships are depicted on the stamps. They are

  • Ascari
  • Fangio
  • Surtees
  • Lauda
  • Schumacher
The Ferrari is know today as a great sports and racing car. It earn its fame from a famous San Marino Race Car Driver Enzo Ferrari who founded the "Ferrari Racing Team" in his hometown in 1929. In 1950 the Ferrari racing team participated in the first world championship of Formula One, and is the only team to have participated in all the succeeding championships winning 14 world champion automaker medals, and 14 world champion driver metals. In all the Ferrari has won a total of 182 Gran Prix races to date in Formula One.

"Dedicated to Ferrari" can be purchased in sets of 6 mint or canceled, Sheets of 15 with descriptive strip on the right, or FDC. The size of each stamp is 30mm x 40mm with a perforation of 13 x 13. They will be printed by Cartor Security Printing using Offset printing process. The quantity Printed will be: 345,000 sets of the 0.01, 0.04, 0.05 Euro stamps, 624,000 of the 0.45 Euro stamp and 240,000 of the 0.62 & 1.50 Euro stamps.
