Norway in a hundred years

Norway Postal Service has issued two new stamps with postage values of 6.00 & 7.50 NOK named "Norway in a hundred years" on the 15th of April 2005. In 2004 the Norway Post asked primary school children of Norway to send in drawings on what Norway would look like in 100 years. Two of the best drawing received would be used in a 2005 Norway stamp issue. Nearly 45,000 children sent their drawings into the Norway post office; and after a difficult job picking the winners the judges selected Maja Anna Marszalek and Tobias Abrahamsen. Each of the winners was given a trip for two to Disneyland in Paris. The names of their drawings and the schools they attend is as follows:

  • City of the Future (6.00 NOK) - drawn by Maja Anna Marszalek, Class 7A, Stangeland School in Sandnes
  • The Modern Classroom(7.50 NOK) - drawn by Tobias Abrahamsen, Class 6B, Sandesundveien School in Sarpsborg
