Postal Vehicles (Europa 2013)

The Norway Postal Service will issue two new stamps that have postage values of 13.00 and 15.00Kr named "Postal Vehicles (Europa 2013)" on the 10th of June 2013. The theme for this year Europa is Postal Vehicles. One stamp depicts a Harley Davidson motor cycle and the other stamp depicts a brand new Ford Connect Electric vehicle. Motorcycles were retired from the Norway Postal fleet because they were too dangerous to operate during the winters months. They were replaced with four wheel vehicles around 1937. One of the Harley Davidson motorcycles is now on display in the Post Museum in Lillehammer. Today the Norway Post has taken the lead as a eco-friendly enterprise with the purchase of not only electric vehicles but with biogas and natural gas vehicles.

"Postal Vehicles (Europa 2013)" stamps can be purchase as singles or FDC's. They will be printed by Joh. Enschede Security Print using the offset printing process.
