Edward Munch 150th Anniversary

The Norway Postal Service has issued four new stamps that have postage values of 13, 15, 17, and 20Kr named "Edvard Munch 150th Anniversary" on the 15th of February 2013. These four stamps depict four major arts works done by the famous painter Edvard Munch. A late 1800s painter who gain an international name because his art exhibition was closed because it was unacceptable to the grandees of the Union. But that did not discourage him, and after he painted several other works. He organized exhibitions in Denmark, Finland and Norway and became an overnight success. Each of the stamps and the painting it depicts is listed below:

  • Kr 13.00: Self-Portrait in Front of the House Wall, 1926
  • Kr 15.00: The Sick Child, 1896
  • Kr 17.00: Madonna, 1895
  • Kr 20.00: The Scream, 1893
  • Kr 20.00 Miniature Sheet shown below: The Sun, 1911

"Edvard Munch 150th Anniversary" stamps can be purchase as singles, Collectors Sheet, Presentation Pack, Mini-sheet, Presentation pack, or FDCs. They were printed by Joh. Enschede Security Print using the four color offset printing method.
