Christmas Fare

It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year the New Zealand Postal Service has issued eight new stamps that have postage values of 45 cents, 90 cents, $1.00, $1.35, $1.50, and $2.00 named "Christmas Fare" on the 4th of October 2004. The eight stamps depict many of the traditional foods that the people of New Zealand indulge in during the Christmas season. They include roast turkey & ham dinners, barbecues, salads and deserts. The word barbecues might throw you since most of us always think of Christmas Festivities being held in winter when we stay inside and keep warm. However, New Zealand is in the Southern Hemisphere where it is warm and outside festivities such as barbecues and Picnics are very common.

"Christmas Fare" stamps can be purchased as singles, set of 5 (gummed) and Set of 3 (self-ahesive), Sheets of 50 (gummed), Booklets (self-adhesive), dispenser (self-adhesive), or various FDC's. The size of each gummed stamp is 35mm x 35mm with a perforation size of 14.25. The size of each self-adhesive stamp is 25mm x 30mm vertical with Die-Cut perforation. They will be printed by Southern Color Print, Dunedin using the offset lithography printing process.
