2010 Scenic Definitives

The New Zealand Postal Service has issued 5 new definitive stamps that have postage values of $1.20, $1.90, $2.40, $2.90, and $3.40 named "2010 Scenic Definitives" on the 4th of August 2010. Each of these stamps depicts the country's favorite visitor destinations. The stamps are described as follows:

  • Mitre Peak, Milford Sound ($1.20) - the stamp features an image of Mitre Peak, which rises almost 1700 meters above the waters of Milford Sound in the south-western South Island.
  • Queenstown ($1.90) - Surrounded by the Southern Alps and sitting on the shores of crystal clear Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown is New Zealands premier lake and alpine resort.
  • Lake Rotorua ($2.40) - a 79.8 square kilometers lake that is the second largest lake in the North Island.
  • Kaikoura ($2.90) - is a town nestled between the majestic Seaward Kaikoura mountains and the vast pacific Ocean, on the rugged east coast of the South Islands.
  • Christchurch ($3.40) - is the South Islands largest city.

"2010 Scenic Definitives" stamps can be purchased as a set of 5 (gummed) and set of 2 (self adhesive), Sheets of 50 (gummed), Booklets of 5 and 10 (self adhesive), and FDC. The size of the stamps are 25mm x 30mm with a stamp perforation of 14 using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by Southern Color Print, New Zealand.
