Ryder Cup 2006

Ireland Postal Service has issued two new special stamps that have a postage value of 75 Cents each named "Ryder Cup 2006" on the 14th of September 2006. The stamps are being issued to celebrate the 2006 Ryder Cup being held in Ireland. And to make this issued even more special the stamps are being printed with Lenticular images. For those of you who are not familiar with Lenticular images. They are like holographic images that appear to move when you change their angle. In this issue the stamps feature visuals of a powerful drive off the tee, and a classic bunker escape with flying sand. Each stamp contains 50 still images that look like a miniature movie when you tilt the stamp back and forth. To see the action of these stamps go to the Ireland Post Home Page at http://www.irishstamps.ie/IrishStamps/index.html

"Ryder Cup 2006" stamps can be purchased as a set of 2, 34 page Prestige booklet, and FDC. The size of each stamp is 39mm x 47mm with a Perforation size of 19.75 x 15.75 per 2cm reference. They will be printed by SEP Sprint, Australia using the Lenticular Printing process. A quantity of 500,000 pairs will be printed.
