Ireland Postal Service 2004 Issue

Christmas 2004

It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year the Ireland Postal Service has issued three new stamps that have postage values of 48 cents, 60 cents and 65 cents named "Christmas 2004" on the 10th of November 2004. The three stamps depict the Holy family (48c), the Flight into Egypt (60c), and the Adoration of the Magi (65c) shown above; and the first day cover features the Adoration of the Shepherds shown below. A special booklet is also being offered with the 48 cents stamp reduced in size shown on the FDC below. The booklet cover is also shown below.

"Christmas 2004" stamps can be purchased in a set, Sheets of 16, Booklet of 24, and FDC. The size of each stamp is 29.8mm x 40.64mm, and the size of the booklet stamp is 25mm x 30mm. Each have a perforation size of 14 x 15. They will be printed by Irish Security Stamp Printing Ltd and Australia Post using the Lithography printing process. The quantity printed of each: 46 cents (3,000,000), 60 cents (1,000,000), 65 cents (1,000,000) and 1,300,000 of the booklet stamps.
