The White-tailed Eagle

The Iceland Postal Service will issue a new stamp with a postage value of 103 ISK named "White-tailed Eagle" on the 14th of January 2014. The stamp depicts a White-tailed Eagle in Flight. It is the largest bird in Iceland and is one of the rarest breeding birds found their. It has been on the endangered species list since 1914 and because of this protection its population has tripled. At one time this Eagle could be found throughout Iceland, but now its habitat is largely in Breidafjorour and West Fjords.

"The White Tailed Eagle" stamp can be purchase as a single, Pane of 10, Assorted blocks of 4, and FDCs. The size of the stamp is 30mm x 40mm. It will be printed by Carter Security Printing using the offset litho printing process with 247gsm self adhesive paper.
