Garden Parks II

The Iceland Postal Service has issued three new stamps that have postage values of 90, 130 and 285 ISK named "Garden Parks II" on the 6th of May 2010. These stamps depict the three most popular Garden Parks in Iceland. Each is described below:

  • Jonsgarour - is the oldest garden park in the town of Isafjorour. It was opened in 1922.
  • Hellisgeroi - is the official garden park of Hafnarfjorour situated in a natural lava surroundings.
  • Skallagrimsgarour - is a garden park in the town of Borgarnes. It was open in 1938.

"Garden Parks II" stamps can be purchased as a set of 3, Sheets of 10, or FDC. The size of each stamp is 31.5mm x 40.6mm with a perforations size of 13 1/4 x 13 3/4 using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by Joh. Enschede Security Print using the Offset Litho printing process with 110gms gummed paper. A total of 450,000 stamps will be printed or 150,000 of each.
