Occasional Stamps

Iceland Postal Service has issued 4 new stamps with postage values of 65, 75, and 85 ISK named "Occasional Stamps" on the 14th of February 2008. These stamps are being issued to be used for various festive occasions like a birthday or Wedding etc. Iceland post says the stamps can best be described by this poem written by Erla(Guofinna porsteinsdottir 1891-1972) which appeared in her poetry book "Fostflowers" in 1937.

On Kissing
Respect kisses the forehead.
Humility touches the lips by hand.
Admiration chooses the cheek.
Friendship kisses all over.
While love is well known for kissing Straight on the mouth.

"Occasional Stamps" can be purchased as singles, Sheets of 10, or FDC. The size of each stamp is 30mm x 30mm.. They will be printed by Joh. Enschede using the Offset printing process.
