The First Motorcycle in Iceland

Iceland Postal Service has issued a new stamp that has a postage value of 50 ISK named "The First Motorcycle in Iceland" on the 7th of October 2005. The stamps depicts the first motorbike brought to Iceland in the summer of 1905 in the background and a Harley Davidson, 2004 Sportster Roadster XLR 1200 in the foreground. An author named Njall Gunnlaugsson researched and wrote a book named "The Icelandic Motorbike Saga". During his research he found the first motorcycle in Iceland. It was in a Danish technical museum and he had it brought to Iceland. The bike license plate states that it is a specimen used for experimentation.
