Lunar New Year - Year of the Horse

The Guernsey Postal Service has issued 6 new stamps with postage values of 40p, 53p, 55p, 63p, 71p and 79p named "Lunar New Year - Year of the Horse" on the 8th of January 2014. These new stamps mark the start of the next Chinese New year that begins on the 31st of January 2014. Chinese zodiac displays this year as the year of the Wood Horse. It also states that people born in this year will have strength and stability.
These stamps depict horses in 5 different positions that represent different parts of Chinese culture. The sixth stamp depicts 8 horses. The number 8 in Chinese culture symbolizes wealth and success.

"Lunar New Year - Year of the Horse" stamps can be purchase as a Set of 6, Sheets of 10, Presentation Pack, Limited Edition Souvenir Sheet and Assorted FDCs. The size of each stamp is 30.5mm by 40mm with a stamp perforation size of 13.3 using the 2cm reference. The Sheet size is 100mm x 140mm. They will be printed by Lowe-Martin using the offset lithography printing process with 100gsm PVA adhesive paper.
